24 November: A 41-year-old man from Site 5 Informal settlement in Table View was arrested after police swooped down on his house in the early hours of the morning. Mandrax tablets, tik, dagga and an undisclosed amount of cash were found. The man is expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on Monday on charges of possession of drugs.
19 November: Police and traffic officials arrested 16 people for driving under the influence of alcohol. The arrests were made in and around Table View and Blouberg.
17 November: Various items were stolen from a car parked in a public area near Marine Circle. The items included a laptop, sunglasses and clothing. There was no sign of forced entry and the car alarm was not activated.
17 November: A Parklands homeowner and friends were surprised by three armed men robbers shortly before 19:00. The occupants of the house in Northridge Crescent were told to lie down, while the robbers ransacked the house. The robbers helped themselves to electronic equipment and other household items before locking the occupants in a bedroom.
16 November: A female jogger was robbed of her cell phone. The woman was running with her dogs along Sandowne Road in Parklands at around 19:00 when two men grabbed her from behind and took her cell phone. The woman escaped unharmed but is said to be traumatised. Table View Police urge runners not to run on their own.
9 November: Valuable items were stolen out of a car parked at the Marine Drive beachfront. The items included sunglasses worth approximately R9000 and clothing valued at nearly R4000.
