“Hope you had a lekker weekend! It’s Monday and the surf has picked up, but the wind is still from the north causing it to be lumpy and bumpy. This means you can go to work without FOMO (fear of missing out on). Or you could try catch galjoen at Slabberts se Klippe if you feel like braving the elements.

On Tuesday the swell stays around. Schedule your board meeting in the afternoon as conditions improve with the wind dying off from the afternoon.

On Wednesday we still have swell with no wind. Choose your surf spot anywhere on the Weskus. It’s going to be peachy!

On Thursday the wind is predicted to blow very strong onshore in the morning and drop off during the course of the day. Brace yourself again for some sinus flushing big surf, as it is predicted to hit the 6 meter height mark. If you don’t want to surf you can always look for shells or red bait for your galjoen fishing as the heavy swells have been washing everything up on the shore here in Melkbos.

Make sure you wash your hands as red bait tends to smell and make the Missus very mad when you put your catch in the fridge. You have been warned!

Friday looks like a day for the die-hard surfer with big seas all around and with no wind conditions. This will see the big wave surfers attempt to surf our own Hawaiian-style waves in our backyard, at a spot called Dungeons in Hout Bay. As for Melkbos, you could try Tubewave. Just be prepared to paddle a lot! Life’s a BEACH!” – Tunafeesh
