There was more to the Toyota Fortuner towing a trailer near Grabouw on Friday than met the eye. Inside the Corsa on top of the trailer was concealed a fortune in drugs.

According to a police spokesperson 100 000 tablets and I kg of heroin valued at R4.3 million were found concealed in false compartments in the white car.

The Toyota Fortuner was en route to Mitchells Plain when it was pulled over near Grabouw by the Narcotics Bureau Unit of the Hawks. Five people, whose ages range from 19-52, were arrested. They will appear in the Grabouw magistrate’s court on Monday on charges related to drug trafficking.
