Never heard of Mended Hearts? Well, now you have. This initiative of the Heart and Stroke Foundation holds free monthly support meetings in Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth for people who have suffered a cardiac event or stroke. Families and friends are welcome to attend too.

The meetings aim to give educational support and advice to survivors and prevent a second event from occurring. The meetings are addressed by speakers ranging from chefs and cardiologists to biokineticists. This month’s meeting will be sheer fun with a “fun session of laughter yoga.”

The next Mended Hearts support meeting will be held on Thursday 29 September at 6 pm in
Conference Room 1 at the Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital in Pinelands.
