MELKBOSSTRAND – The soccer teams of Olive Close and Wolwerivier informal settlement battled it out on Sunday afternoon. The game resulted in a draw and a rematch will take place this coming Sunday.

Watching the game were the Milnerton Cluster Comander, Geneeral Anneqah Jordaan, Captain Ronita van der Toorn and Constable Debbie Alard. According to Constable Alard the youngsters from Wolwerivier “eat, sleep and drink soccer,” which will make it hard for the team of Olive Close to beat them. The tables are turned however when Olive Close plays netball against Wolwerivier.

The soccer and netball teams were started to help youngsters from Olive Close and Wolwerivier steer clear of crime, alcohol abuse, drugs and gangsterism.
