Atlantic Beach Estate has once again made it onto the list of top 10 estates in South Africa.
The list was compiled by The New World Wealth. The other estates on the list are: Val de Vie (Paarl), Zimbali (Durban), Fancourt (George), Steyn City (Johannesburg), Pezula (Knysna), Whalerock Ridge (Plettenberg Bay), De Zalze (Stellenbosch), Highland Gate (Dullstroom), Arabella (Hermanus).
According to the Marketing & Communications Co-ordinator for Atlantic Beach Estate, Tarryn Nel, making the top 10 again is an honor in the light of the multitude of estates that are on offer in South Africa. But it is not surprising in light of what the estate offers. Put in a nutshell, it is a stress-free and secure coastal lifestyle such as is hard to find elsewhere in South Africa.
State-of-the-art security
The estate’s 860 houses, which are built in the Westcoast Vernacular style, are grouped into various villages around the 18-hole golf course. The wildlife, which include 25-30 Springbuck, grysbokkies, chameleons, porcupine, tortoises, grey mongoose, otters and an abundance of birdlife such as the barn owl, adds to the eco lifestyle. But according to Nel it is the state-of-the-art security that makes people buy here. In addition to having an electric fence the estate has “a state-of-the-art video analytic perimeter camera corridor, which allows for the entire perimeter of the Estate to be under 24-hour surveillance.
These static cameras form a camera corridor around the entire estate, with one camera looking at, and slightly past, the next.” Additional security includes biometric or fingerprint access control systems and an emergency response vehicle. The estate’s onsite technical, manpower and emergency response infrastructures are monitored and controlled on a 24-hour basis from an offsite control room situated in Goodwood.
