Two men and a woman attempted to rob a pub in Porterfield Road, Table View, shortly before 11 o’ clock yesterday morning. They failed, but things went awry from there.

According to police spokesperson Captain Adriana Chandler one of the suspects pointed a firearm at the bartender, and a struggle ensued. A shot was fired but it missed the barman. The trio ran from the pub without having been able to get their hands on money.

One of the suspects approached a man who was sitting in his car in a nearby parking lot, and ordered him out of it. A shot was fired, hitting the man in the leg.  According to Captain Chandler the shooter fled the scene “after dragging the victim out of his own car.” The other two suspects fled on foot.

The victim was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment.  He was too shocked to provide a registration number but police searched for the vehicle according to the description provided.
