Three suspected housebreakers got more than they were banking on today when they entered a property in Avonmouth Road in Parklands. The men (aged 20-24) from Khayelitsha had no sooner entered the property than they were seen. They fled from the scene leaving a crowbar behind.
According to a spokesperson for Table View Police the homeowner “received notification on his phone that someone was on his property. He could see the suspects entering his premises and immediately contacted the police and gave a description of the suspects.”

Crimebusters! The team that gave chase.
A team of crime busters was immediately assembled. The team, consisting of members of the Table View police, Table View Neighbourhood Watch, Parklands Neighbourhood Watch, Atlantic Seaboard Armed Response, Complex Patrol and community police forum, gave chase.
The group of men had split up, with one man fleeing in a white Ford and the other two running off.
