What a load of abalone! A Chinese and Zimbabwean national were arrested this morning after police searched a house in Gordon’s Bay and found abalone and equipment valued at over R4.5 million inside the house.
The house was allegedly used as an illegal abalone processing facility. Over 26015 units of dried abalone as well as equipment were confiscated. The men, aged 23 and 28, will appear in the Strand Magistrate’s Court on Thursday to face charges in contravention of the Marine Living Resources Act.
