The early bird catches the worm. But sometimes it works the other way around… A 28-year-old alleged housebreaker from Joe Slovo Park waltzed into a house in Dolphin Beach shortly before 10 o’ clock this morning.
He must have thought that nobody was at home. The man was confronted by the homeowner however, and ran off. He thereupon went to hide underneath a vehicle.
The homeowner called her security company and informed them of the man’s whereabouts. When Constable Nathaniel van Rooi and a colleague arrived on the scene they found the man underneath the vehicle. With him was a device used to jam the locking system of vehicles.
The man was arrested and is being detained at Table View police station. Colonel Dirk Vosloo, Station Commander, has commended the role players in the joint apprehension of the suspect. He has also urged people to lock their doors at all times.
