Two men had a narrow escape yesterday when the structure they were working on in Table View collapsed.
According to the spokesperson for the South African Paramedic Services, Warren Cupido, the accident occurred around 6 pm in Pentz Drive where the men were busy fixing a leaking water pipe beneath a concrete wall. Cupido says that the men sustained “multiple cuts and bruises, back pain and hypothermia.” They were extricated by colleagues prior to the arrival of the ambulance. Cupido thanked the “heroic gentlemen who assisted their co-workers without hesitation” and Community Medics for their assistance.
