According to Table View Police robberies are on the increase. Police urge people to refrain from talking on their cellphones while walking in public. Many victims have been threatened with dangerous weapons, and their cell phones taken from them by force.

One such incident took place recently when a thief grabbed the cellphone from the hands of a man whose car was stationary at a red traffic light on the corners of Gie and Blaauwberg Road in Table View. This incident took place before 09:00 in the morning.
