A Table View policeman came eyeball to eyeball with a housebreaking suspect yesterday afternoon. According to Table View police spokesperson Captain Adriana Chandler, Constable Lehlhonolo Msali responded to a report of housebreaking in Cross Road, Sundridge, Table View.
Upon arrival at the house the police were told by a neighbour that the suspect could still be inside the house.
The front of the house was undisturbed; entry had being gained by forcing the back door open. According to the police report, “When Constable Msali looked through the broken part of the door he noticed a man standing inside the house looking straight at him.” A back pack, filled with items belonging to the homeowner, stood nearby. The police found a screwdriver, with which the back door had been forced open, on the man.
The 28-year-old man from Du Noon was arrested.
