Two laptops were stolen on two consecutive days from cars in Table View. And it need not have happened.

According to the spokesperson for Table View police, Captain Adriana Chandler, the first theft occurred on Thursday 8 September at 2.30 pm when a woman parked her car at Boy De Goede Circle in Table View. When she returned five minutes later her Dell laptop, which she had left in the car and which was valued at R9000, was stolen.

On Friday, 9 September at 6.30 pm a woman parked at Marine Circle in Table View. When she returned 45 minutes later her laptop as well as items of clothing that had been left in the car, had been stolen.

Captain Chandler says, “In both instances there were no forced entry to the vehicle and negligence was the cause of theft out of motor vehicle.”
