A 26-year-old suspected drug dealer tried to shake off the police during a high speed chase last night. But the suspect was not successful.

According to a police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana the suspect’s grey BMW was noticed in Kromboom street in Scottsville, Kraaifontein, around 7.30 last night. He sped off when he realised that he had been noticed and a high speed chase resulted. Police attached to the Khayelitsha Tactical Response Team  managed to pull him over.

Police searched the car and found 31 000 Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R916 000. The suspect will appear in the Kuils River Magistrate’s court tomorrow on charges related to dealing in drugs.
