SAPS report: A resident of Blouberg was surprised by an unknown man, who grabbed her from behind after she had parked her vehicle in the garage and walked to her front door on 10 January 2018 after 21:00.
Another two men joined the first one, who was armed with a firearm. When the men realised that there were too many people inside the house, they left the scene running.
On the same evening at the same time, another couple returned to their home in Parklands with their two young children, who were asleep in the vehicle. When the husband exited the vehicle, he was approached by four unknown men, one armed with a firearm. The husband and wife were ordered to go into the house. Various household items were taken. Before the suspects fled the scene in the couple’s vehicle, they took the sleeping children out. The couple was tied up and the suspects were joined by a fifth man. The five men drove off in the vehicle, which was later discovered abandoned in Khayelitsha.
As a precautionary measure, drivers are advised to reverse their vehicles into their drive ways, so that they can view their road and entrance to drive way. It will also be easier to drive away, should there be an intruder. Always be alert and aware of your surroundings when returning home (day or night time) and should you observe a suspicious vehicle or persons in the road drive around the block. Report any suspicious activity to your local police station, neighbourhood watch or security company.
Table View Police are appealing to anyone who may have further information on the whereabouts of the suspects, to please contact them at 021 5213300 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
