Melkbos Robbery: Shots Fired

A Melkbosstrand couple was wounded during an armed robbery in the early morning hours of Sunday 26 February.

According to Milnerton Cluster police spokesperson Sergeant Nicolette Visagie “at 01:30 three men approached a domestic worker who was smoking outside.”

The robbers forced the domestic worker, who stays on the premises, inside her flat. Both she and her boyfriend were tied up. One of the robbers stayed with them while the other two broke into the main house. “When the owner and his wife tried  to escape shots were fired and the husband was shot above his right eye and his wife was wounded in the leg.”  The robbers tied the couple up.

They fled after helping themselves to laptops, 4 cellphones and 2 firearms.  The couple managed to untie themselves and phone the police. They were taken to hospital.
