2 Recent Break-ins

Police_badgeMelkbosstrand police asks the assistance of the community in connection with recent break-ins in Bato Way and 17th Avenue.

According to police spokesperson Constable Debbie Alard the owner of the house in Bato Way was out of town when the break-in occurred. The break-in took place between 5 pm on 3 July, when the owner’s son went to check up on the house, and his visit at 5 pm on the following day. On arrival he found that the padlock of the gate had been broken and that the front door had been forced open. A 42-inch Hisense television had been stolen.

On 4 July a house in 17th Avenue was broken into between 7:30 am when the owner left for work, and his return at 8:05 pm when found his front door open. A crowbar had been left behind in one of the rooms. A 55-inch Hisense flatscreen television had been stolen.

At present there are no suspects. People with information or video footage are asked to contact Melkbosstrand police on 021 553 8200 and 079 894 1640.
