Melkbosstrand police asks the assistance of the community in connection with recent break-ins in Bato Way and 17th Avenue.
According to police spokesperson Constable Debbie Alard the owner of the house in Bato Way was out of town when the break-in occurred. The break-in took place between 5 pm on 3 July, when the owner’s son went to check up on the house, and his visit at 5 pm on the following day. On arrival he found that the padlock of the gate had been broken and that the front door had been forced open. A 42-inch Hisense television had been stolen.
On 4 July a house in 17th Avenue was broken into between 7:30 am when the owner left for work, and his return at 8:05 pm when found his front door open. A crowbar had been left behind in one of the rooms. A 55-inch Hisense flatscreen television had been stolen.
